Grant support

Save time on every funding source in your report

Each November we send police departments the Annual Police PE Funding Report: the public and nonprofit funding paths we could verify for ballistic protection in their jurisdiction. Request the toolkit your report refers to here, or a report for your department.

Grant Support Toolkit

What the toolkit includes

Built so the person handed the report can complete an application without a second meeting. The effort estimates printed in your report assume you use the toolkit.

  • Sample application languageFor every source category in your report: federal formula, state pass-through, national foundations and local funders, with your numbers already in it.
  • A plan for each funderWhich applications fit your department, and what each one asks for.
  • Training and deployment plan templateSome funders ask for one with the application.
  • Specifications and test documentationOn request, for funders that ask for technical attachments.
  • A dated planning-estimate quoteOn request, for your helmet count and your purchasing file. Federal sections use your own price quotes, as procurement rules require.

Which helmet are you considering?

Does a nonprofit support your department? a police foundation, booster or "Friends of" group

Some local foundations accept applications only from nonprofits. Your toolkit notes which ones, and what setting up a partner takes.

Who files your department's JAG application?
Is this purchase already in your approved budget?

Federal grants usually can't pay for something already budgeted, so this changes which applications we recommend.

Request your department's report

Each report lists the public and nonprofit funding paths we could verify for ballistic protection in one jurisdiction: allocation numbers, local foundations, application windows and the hours each application takes.

If your department hasn't received one, request it. We research your jurisdiction and send you the report. There is no obligation to buy.

Ready to put a number in an application?

When an application needs a cost basis, reply to your toolkit email or write to sales@ballisticarmorco.com with your helmet count and model. We send back a dated planning-estimate quote your grants office can attach.

Ballistic Armor Co. is a prospective equipment vendor. Amounts referenced in our funding reports are program maximums or published allocations; foundation grants are competitive and awards are not guaranteed. Program terms change; verify with each funder before applying. Your department determines grant eligibility, owns any application, and follows its own procurement rules.
