Bastion® Patrol Ballistic Helmet
About the Bastion® Patrol
The Bastion® Patrol is built for patrol officers and daily duty wear. It shares the same shell, geometry, and HG2 testing as every Bastion® helmet, with black resin SlideLock™ rails that keep weight and cost down while accepting the full range of helmet accessories.
The high-cut shell's clipped rear corners and arch let you drop into the prone position and shoulder your rifle without removing the helmet. A raised contour above the ears lets you work without breaking the seal on your ear protection. Designed for municipal law enforcement, campus security, and long patrol shifts.
Independently tested to HG2 (NIJ 0123.00). Pressed in the United States with a clear chain of custody and assembled in White City, Oregon.
- Tested to HG2: The same shell and HG2 testing as every Bastion® helmet. Lab reports are available during agency procurement.
- Built for Daily Duty: Black resin rails reduce weight for all-shift comfort while keeping full SlideLock™ functionality.
- Full Accessory Compatibility: Reverse dovetail, M-LOK™, and bolt-on mounting in a single rail.
- Mobility & Field of View: High-cut geometry expands peripheral vision and range of motion.
- Comfort in the Prone Position: Clipped rear corners keep the helmet out of the way when you're on the ground and behind a rifle.
Aluminum NVG Mount Shroud
The solid aluminum shroud accepts a Wilcox G24 NVG mount. Three integrated anchor points take concealed bolts from the backside for a clean, no-snag profile, finished in heat-cured Cerakote® H-Series ceramic.
SlideLock™ Side Rails: Black Resin
Mount your lights, cameras, and comms on duty-proven black resin SlideLock™ rails. Reverse dovetail, M-LOK™, and bolt-on mounting come together in a single sleek, no-snag rail. The resin construction reduces overall helmet weight for long shifts and is backed by a 10-year rail warranty.
Exterior Hook & Loop
Hook-and-loop panels, shaped as a nod to the fortress bastions the helmet is named for, cover the key locations for patches, IR markers, and accessories, with or without a helmet cover. Secured with 3M™ mil-spec adhesive to hold up in extreme weather.
4-Point Retention Harness
The 4-point harness and chin strap adjust with one hand in the field, without removing the helmet. For bigger adjustments, the harness repositions onto the molded interior hooks, no tools required.
Memory Foam Pad Suspension
Gen 3 pads layer soft open-cell memory foam over a high-density, shock-absorbing closed-cell base, wrapped in a breathable, satin-like cover. At 7/8" (22mm) thick, they keep the helmet stable and comfortable through a full shift, and hook-and-loop backing lets you reposition them for a custom fit.
Patrol-Ready Mounting Platform
The Bastion® Patrol combines a machined aluminum NVG shroud with black resin SlideLock™ rails—reducing overall helmet weight for extended patrol shifts without sacrificing accessory compatibility. With a durable Cerakote™ finish on both shroud and rails, the mounting platform remains quiet, no-snag, and ready for daily duty operations.
Unparalleled Memory Foam Comfort
Silky breathable rayon envelopes layers of shock-absorbing memory foam, engineered to exceed NIJ backface deformation standards and protect you from concussion caused by impact to the helmet.
Advanced High Cut Shell Geometry
The distinctive cut of the Bastion™ is designed to give you full maneuverability and peripheral vision without interference from your gear. Focus on the mission with a clean seal on your eye and ear protection, even in the prone position.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What's the difference between the Bastion® Patrol and the standard Bastion®?
Both helmets share the same NIJ IIIA ballistic shell, memory foam suspension system, aluminum NVG shroud, and distinctive high-cut geometry. The difference is in the rail material: the Bastion® Patrol features precision-engineered black resin SlideLock™ rails, while the standard Bastion® uses fully machined aluminum rails.
The black resin rails on the Patrol model reduce overall helmet weight for enhanced comfort during extended patrol shifts, while maintaining full compatibility with all SlideLock™ accessories (MLOK, reverse dovetail, and bolt-on mounting). Both rail systems feature the same Cerakote® finish and sleek, no-snag design.
Choose the Bastion® Patrol if: You need proven ballistic protection for daily patrol duty, municipal law enforcement, campus security, or training operations where comfort during 12+ hour shifts is a priority.
Choose the standard Bastion® if: You're outfitting tactical teams, SWAT units, or federal agencies where equipment will be subjected to extreme operational stress and ultimate durability is paramount.
Are the Bastion® Patrol rails compatible with the same accessories as the standard Bastion®?
Yes. Both models use the identical SlideLock™ rail system design, which means all accessories designed for reverse dovetail, MLOK™, or bolt-on mounting will work with either helmet. The only difference is the material composition—black resin vs. machined aluminum.
Will the Bastion® Patrol hold up to daily use?
Absolutely. The Bastion® Patrol is engineered for the rigors of daily patrol duty. The black resin rails are designed to withstand the wear and tear of routine law enforcement operations, vehicle mounting/dismounting, and regular accessory changes. Like all Bastion® products, the Patrol model is backed by our 10-year manufacturer warranty.
What's the difference in the warranty between Patrol and standard Bastion® rails?
The black resin rails on the Bastion® Patrol carry a 10-year warranty from manufacturing defects, while the machined aluminum rails on the standard Bastion® include lifetime replacement for any reason. Both are engineered for daily duty use; the lifetime warranty on aluminum rails reflects their indestructible nature under extreme tactical stress.
If your operational requirements change, Bastion® Patrol owners can upgrade to aluminum SlideLock™ replacement rails at any time.
Can I upgrade my Bastion® Patrol rails to aluminum later?
Yes. The Bastion® Patrol uses the same rail mounting system as the standard Bastion®, which means you can purchase aluminum SlideLock™ replacement rails at any time and install them yourself. This gives you the flexibility to start with the Patrol model and upgrade components as your needs or budget evolve.
