About the Bastion® Operator Mid Cut
The Bastion® Operator Mid Cut is built for SWAT and tactical teams who need more coverage without giving up mobility. Its contoured shell wraps the head for added protection while leaving room for integrated comms, peripheral vision, and a full range of motion.
Independently tested to HG2 (NIJ 0123.00). Pressed in the United States with a clear chain of custody and assembled in White City, Oregon.

Aluminum NVG Mount Shroud
The solid aluminum shroud accepts a Wilcox G24 NVG mount. Three integrated anchor points take concealed bolts from the backside for a clean, no-snag profile, finished in heat-cured Cerakote® H-Series ceramic.
SlideLock™ Side Rails
Machined from American aluminum with a Cerakote® finish, SlideLock™ combines reverse dovetail, M-LOK™, and bolt-on mounting in a single low-profile, no-snag rail. The rails carry a lifetime use-and-abuse warranty: if one fails, we replace it.
Exterior Hook & Loop
Hook-and-loop panels, shaped as a nod to the fortress bastions the helmet is named for, cover the key locations for patches, IR markers, and accessories, with or without a helmet cover. Secured with 3M™ mil-spec adhesive to hold up in extreme weather.
4-Point Retention Harness
The 4-point harness and chin strap adjust with one hand in the field, without removing the helmet. For bigger adjustments, the harness repositions onto the molded interior hooks, no tools required.
Memory Foam Pad Suspension
Gen 3 pads layer soft open-cell memory foam over a high-density, shock-absorbing closed-cell base, wrapped in a breathable, satin-like cover. At 7/8" (22mm) thick, they keep the helmet stable and comfortable through a full shift, and hook-and-loop backing lets you reposition them for a custom fit.
Unbreakable Shroud & Rails
The Bastion™ presents the most secure equipment mounting platform in the world. Cut from solid American aluminum and coated with a Cerakote™ finish, the shroud and SlideLock™ rails are quiet, light, and able to withstand all the stress and impact that your helmet can endure.
Unparalleled Memory Foam Comfort
Silky breathable rayon envelopes layers of shock-absorbing memory foam, engineered to exceed NIJ backface deformation standards and protect you from concussion caused by impact to the helmet.
Advanced High Cut Shell Geometry
The distinctive cut of the Bastion™ is designed to give you full maneuverability and peripheral vision without interference from your gear. Focus on the mission with a clean seal on your eye and ear protection, even in the prone position.

Where are Ballistic Armor Co.™ helmets manufactured?
As of February 1, 2026, all Ballistic Armor Co. helmets are pressed and Made in the USA.
The Gen 1 helmet, which was discontinued in February 2026 due to our commitment to American manufacturing, was pressed in China to Ballistic Armor Co. specifications and independently tested by an NIJ-certified lab in the United States.
I'm currently deployed. Can you ship to an APO?
Yes. Please note that shipping to a military base or U.S. embassy overseas is still considered an export, so it is subject to the same ITAR/EAR constraints as a regular export. However, in most cases it is not a problem shipping to deployed military.
